This photo gallery features an Equinox Audio home theater system with pictures of Equinox Jupiters, Perigees, Aphelions, Zenith and Equator. There are photographs of a ME 25 pre amplifier, ME 240 amplifier, ME 550 Power amplifier and ME 850 power amplifier.
Photos also detail the Audax speakers mounted in the ceiling. These drivers are mounted in the following manner.
Circular hole cut in the gyprock ceiling at centre between the framing. A piece of 18mm mdf with a cut-out for the driver is liquid nailed to the top of the gyprock and an extra piece of timber is screwed and glued to the top of the mdf panel and into the ceiling framing at either end of the mdf panels.
17 litre sealed boxes are glued over the speaker in the ceiling mainly to keep them clean and keep any vermin out that may get into the ceiling cavity at any time. There are 2 of these 4 ohm drivers for each of the left and right channel surrounds which present a 2 ohm load to the amplifier hence the ME 550 power amplifier for the job.
The two rear ceiling mounted drivers for left and right or rear only combined channel are powered by the Denon processor. Volume level balance for the home theater system is set up using an analogue level meter purchased from Tandy.
